Homecoming TP high-rolling reminders from your SRO
Homecoming week is right around the corner and I wanted to share some helpful tips on how to make the week filled with joyfulness and happy memories with your friends and classmates!
- HAVE FUN! BE SAFE! BE RESPECTFUL!
- IF SOMEONE SAYS OR ASKS NOT TO BE ROLLED WITH TP, then DON'T ROLL THEIR HOUSE!
It's really that simple! What seems like a harmless prank to some, may not be harmless to someone else. Some people have younger children, elderly family members, family members with disabilities, or other circumstances that can make late night activities on their property stressful. Some members of our community are also veterans or first responders who may experience PTSD.
You never know what families are going through so please respect their home and their wishes.
- DON'T TRESPASS! If you've been told not to be there, don't be there!
- DON'T DAMAGE PROPERTY! Toilet paper is one thing. Breaking, damaging, painting, and destroying something is entirely different.
- DON'T BLOCK ROADS OR DRIVEWAYS! Your homecoming operation does not give you the authority for traffic control.
- DON'T THROW THINGS (OR SHOOT THINGS) AT PEOPLE OR VEHICLES, OR ANYTHING FOR THAT MATTER!
- NO CARELESS OR RECKLESS DRIVING! No prank, challenge, or social media video is worth someone getting hurt, or worse!
- CLEAN-UP AFTER YOURSELVES! If your masterpiece looks like an EF-5 toilet paper tornado went through, be responsible and courteous enough to ask the owners if you can help clean it up.
- DON'T TURN A FUN HOMECOMING MEMORY INTO A BAD ONE WITH A POLICE REPORT!
Homecoming should be a time for having fun, showing school spirit, building lifelong memories with your peers, and celebrating what it means to be part of the WOLVES PACK.
Have fun. Laugh. Make lasting memories. Use good judgement and respect others. If one of your peers makes a statement like "Guys this is probably a bad idea." Listen to that person!
I'll leave on a more positive note: Officer Roen's house is fair game! Let's see who can roll the deepest! 😄
